His desire is to empower an army of believers who are fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ and who correctly relay the Life-changing Good News of the Bible.
Scott original career plan was in printing and graphic arts. In 1995 he and Doug Foxworth founded Gamecock City Printing, Inc. in Sumter, SC. It appeared that this would be his path in life however that is not what God had in plan for him. At a fall revival hosted by his home church in 1997 Scott answered the call into full-time, vocational ministry. In 1998 Scott sold his share of the business to his partner and enrolled at Columbia International University. During this time he began his public ministry serving as the youth pastor at Wateree Baptist Church in Camden, SC.
In 2001, Scott graduated from C.I.U. with a Bachelors of Science majoring in Bible and general studies with a minor in youth ministry. That same year, Scott accepted a call to Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church in Newport, TN as the Associate Pastor, Family Life Ministry. During this time he began working on his Master's degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He served at L.A.B.C. for six years.
In 2007, Scott accepted a call to Maranatha Bible Church in Akron, OH as the Assistant Pastor, Jr. High Ministry. Scott finished his Masters of Arts degree in Christian Education, Church Ministries at Liberty University's Seminary. He served at Maranatha for four and a half years.
In October of 2011, Scott accepted a call to become the Youth and Young Adults Pastor here a Tabernacle. Scott has enjoyed serving alongside Pastor Scott, Pastor Michael, and Mrs. Jane. He loves the welcoming, family atmosphere at Tabernacle. He is excited about what God is doing through the body and is looking forward to even greater things ahead.
Scott and Chandra have been married since December of 1996 and have two boys: Joshua and Timothy. Scott has been serving in youth ministry since 1998. He loves to spend time with his family. He loves reading, watching movies, and listening to all types of music. His favorite song is "When I Survey The Wondrous Cross." Scott enjoys playing the drums, bass guitar, and electric guitar. Scott's life verse is Matthew 16:24, "Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me." NKJV
