NEWS & NOTES THIS WEEK…

CONGRATS GRADS!…This Sunday is Graduate Recognition, which we have coincided with the final Youth Choir Sunday of the year.

THIS SUNDAY…Youth Choir will be leading this week.

WEB CALENDAR…I’ve just added a web calendar for the music ministry. You can see all the events and times there, and even subscribe to sync it to your own devices. DISCLAIMER: Anything on the calendar from September 2017 on is still TENTATIVE.

WORSHIP QUOTE OF THE WEEK.
You may have noticed by now that all of the quotes have been from Bob Kauflin for a few weeks. I will be going through his book, Worship Matters, and picking out one quote from each chapter to share. You can get your own copy of the book here and read the whole thing.

“We must also be clear about what the cross actually means. Some worship songs leave the impression that the cross is about how important we are to God. One song claimed Jesus ‘would rather die than live without me.’ While it’s true that God’s love motivated him to send his Son to die in my place, the cross ultimately points not to the greatness of our worth but to the greatness of our sin.”

--BOB KAUFLIN, Worship Matters (ch. 9) (Crossway, 2008)
